Make Your Support Team Part of Your Sales Generation Marketing Rss-blue

Create Lasting Relationships With Your Sales Team

I want to make a bet with you!

Now I am the last person to encourage gambling but I do try and help people create lasting relationships that yield win win situations and an ongoing string of b2b business generation ideas   so I need to make a bet.

I bet that if you are like the majority of sales professionals that you are missing a great opportunity to create a closer and deeper relationship with those clients that have the most potential to bring you the most sales generation opportunities.

I bet that you spend a lot of time building your relationship, one on one, with these very important contacts. The little presents, remembered dates, strategic meetings and all the other things that are needed to build an honest business relationship.

But you are not involving one of your strongest allies in all this - your staff!

Most staff would just love to get involved at a deeper level with your business generation efforts but do you bring them into your game plan? Or do they only touch the client enough to send out a reminder or confirm an appointment or send a birthday card on your behalf.

If you are like the majority of sales professionals or managers with support staff - I bet you don't do it nearly enough!

They are good at their jobs and usually have a pretty good handle on how to be effective - do you think they would enjoy the challenge and opportunity of becoming more involved?

Ensure they make contact with clients in their own right at least by phone. It adds credibility to you by showing you have the staff to back you up. Then add to this.

How about adding their photo to their email signatures. Or you could send out a flyer with the photos of all your staff on them. People love putting a name to a face and this small a move alone will instantly add huge rapport to their conversations.

Your enthusiastic support is wonderful to have with you when you go on a client visit. Clients will see a new dimension to the business and new relationships get formed at different levels. It will be them that get to hear when someone is leaving or thinking of leaving you.

A new perspective will open up new ideas and opportunities that will also add real value.

Really, there are so many reasons to do it that it seems crazy not to.

So...did I win my bet?
